Tanzanite is 5 years old and 16 hands and still growing. She is a VERY Elegant yet sturdy girl that is quite athletic. “Tanz” has great potential for dressage, jumping, driving, trail riding, natural horsemanship, being a broodmare, or even cow sorting! She's a Friesian/Paint (mostly TB) cross, registered Friesian Sport Horse with fabulous bloodlines. Tanzanite was imprinted at birth and has been exposed to alot in life. Warmbloods mature around 6 or so & she still has some maturing to do but she’s a pretty solid girl already. She is also an easy keeper so is easy on the feed budget.

Tanz is a “Sabino” type Paint, bright bay with high white socks all around with the Friesian feathers, a shapely blaze that ends in black “lipstick“ on her lips, she has a white chin and a white streak in her black tail. She has super tough white feet, my farrier keeps remarking on this since white feet are usually not very strong. Her long mane and tail are Friesian thick and wavy. Her tail hangs in natural “dreadlocks”, never tangles, and needs regular trimming or it drags on the ground. Her eyes are the most Gorgeous blue you‘ve ever seen - she’s truly a unique one-of-a-kind beauty!

Her sire is the Friesian stallion “Nanne” who stands 17 hands. His sire was the popular Tjimme from the very desirable Stam 38 line, Tjimme’s sire was the well known Jochem. Nanne’s dam was by the highly prized stallion Lammert.

Tanzanite’s dam is “Alis Red Breeze“ (aka: Holly), a 15.1 hand Paint bred to race. Holly’s career included racing, polo, eventing, dressage, hunter jumping and at age 22 was still totally sound with lovely clean legs and solid tough feet. She had Tanz at age 23! Her background includes Go Man Go (by Top Deck) and Three Bars on her QH side. On her TB side she goes back to War Relic by the famous War Admiral who was by the great Man O’ War.

This wonderful mare has had professional training as a 3yr old and 5yr old using natural methods and included lots of outside trail riding. Not much bothers her and by the time she‘s fully mature she‘ll be a really super horse! Tanz has been to several “natural horsemanship” clinics last summer and a few shows. She was shown “in hand” in some Sporthorse Breed classes at a couple of dressage shows and earned a 70.2% in her first show. She was 2008 RMDS Breed Show Champion Friesian/Part Friesian.

Tanz has a solid background of Training level dressage & reliably does walk-trot-canter, leg yields, side pass, beginning shoulder-in, turns on forehand and haunches, rein back, one rein stop at all gaits, and goes well in a snaffle or just a rope halter. She also does various obstacles like small jump, bridge, teeter-tooter, tarps (over & between), logs (walk or jump over), piles of branches, water, will pull a tarp or a log, etc. She even has some “cow” in her, she loves to chase cows (because she wants to nip them on the rear!). This year we've introduced her to easy going cow sorting and she Loves going after those cows! She's also been introduced to jumping and shows nice jumping style. Tanzanite's early training included alot of ground driving and she's ready for introduction to the cart if that's a direction you'd like go.

I took her to a top dressage trainer for an evaluation lesson and she Really Likes this mare. She sees good potential for Tanz to become a fancy dressage horse as she matures and develops more muscle strength.

Tanzanite is smart and sweet and has that spark that will definitely catch the judge’s eye. She is eligible for International Friesian Show Horse Assoc. membership and awards programs. And the US Dressage Federation recognizes the Friesian Sport Horse for year end awards.

This mare attracts attention wherever she goes & with her blossoming talent as she matures will have a wonderful show career.

Only selling due to my physical issues forcing me out of competition riding, this mare is Way Too Nice to just be a pasture pet & trail pony - she deserves to be in a show home.

I will discount her price to a home in Colorado since i'd like to see her at the shows :-)
